Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Ward Clerk to provide administrative and clerical support to our Ward team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an accurate and efficient data entry service of patient information, as well as providing a daily reception service to the Ward area.

Main Duties
  • Act as the focal point of administrative communications for the Ward, taking all telephone enquiries and directing patients where necessary.
  • Register, collate and enter onto the computer system all patient held records, as well as collecting and filing all in-patient books.
  • Prepare documentation from admission to discharge for use by medical staff.
  • Maintain patient notes on the ward in an organized and methodical manner according to Trust guidelines.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure errors and issues are resolved.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • English Language GCSE grade C or above or equivalent.
  • IT/Computer skills to RSA I or equivalent with recent work experience in this field.
  • Experience of taking and responding to telephone enquiries from customers and within own organization and prioritizing as necessary.
  • Recent experience of working within a customer care environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
