Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compliance and Health and Safety Manager to lead our Corporate Health and Safety Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all current health and safety legislation and providing strategic and operational leadership across the London Borough of Merton.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement health and safety strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Corporate Health and Safety Team to ensure effective delivery of health and safety functions
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across all agencies and the council to ensure effective risk management and compliance
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Requirements

We are looking for a strong background and experience in health and safety, with a proven track record of leading teams and implementing effective health and safety strategies. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills.
