Job Summary:

Essex County Council is seeking a skilled and experienced UGO Bus Driver to join our team. As a UGO Bus Driver, you will be responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation services to our passengers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a minibus safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to passengers, ensuring their comfort and safety during transportation.
  • Work collaboratively with other drivers and staff to ensure smooth operations and meet customer needs.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain and improve driving skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, security, and customer service.

Requirements:

  • Valid driving license with a D1 entitlement.
  • Experience in working with customers from diverse backgrounds and needs.
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Good communication and social skills, with the ability to interact effectively with passengers and colleagues.
  • Ability to use a smartphone and/or tablet for communication and navigation purposes.

Working Conditions:

As a UGO Bus Driver, you will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with passengers and colleagues on a daily basis. You will be required to work a split shift pattern, which may include early morning and afternoon shifts. You will also be required to complete an enhanced DBS check and attend mandatory training, including MiDAS and First Aid.
