As one of the largest not-for-profit social care providers in the UK, Creative Support has been committed to excellence since our inception. We support over 6,000 individuals annually across 70 local authorities and employ approximately 5,000 dedicated professionals. With an annual turnover exceeding £160 million, we are recognized as a registered provider of social housing, managing a portfolio of over 1,000 homes tailored to the needs of those we serve.

Governance and Leadership
Following a comprehensive external governance review, we are embarking on a strategic plan aimed at enhancing our services and expanding our reach. We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Board of Trustees. Ideal candidates will share our commitment to our charitable mission and possess a strong understanding of person-centered values and co-production principles.

Desired Qualifications
We are particularly interested in candidates with senior operational management experience in the social care sector. However, we also welcome applicants from diverse professional backgrounds, including those with personal or familial experience with support services. Transferable skills from the charitable, public, or private sectors are highly valued.

Role Responsibilities
As a trustee, you will play a vital role in ensuring effective governance and strategic oversight of our organization. Key responsibilities include:

  • Attending a minimum of six evening Board meetings each year, along with the Annual General Meeting and occasional planning sessions.
  • Contributing to a committee aligned with your expertise, with current committees focusing on Finance & Audit, Housing, People & Performance, and Quality & Practice Development.
  • Engaging with our services, staff, tenants, and the individuals we support.
