Job Description

Parkside Office Professional is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Record Management: Record and process day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, and reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Accounts Management: Process and manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Invoicing and Collections: Generate and send invoices to clients, following up on outstanding payments to ensure timely collection.
  • Payroll Support: Assist in preparing payroll by ensuring all relevant data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Financial Reporting: Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing insights into the company's financial health.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure that all financial practices comply with legal guidelines and established accounting principles.
  • External Liaison: Work closely with external accountants to manage end-of-year financial audits and reporting.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Qualifications: AAT qualification or equivalent is preferred, demonstrating a high level of technical expertise.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing financial records, with a strong focus on quality and precision.
  • Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, prioritising and managing competing demands.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with team members and external stakeholders.
  • Discretion: Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality, maintaining the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
