We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our StreetCare Design and Operations team as a Groundworker Apprentice. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of frontline highway maintenance, civil engineering, and structural engineering schemes throughout South Gloucestershire.
Key Responsibilities- Support the StreetCare Design and Operations team in the delivery of frontline highway maintenance and civil engineering schemes.
- Work alongside experienced staff to prepare sites for construction and civil engineering works.
- Learn and assist in highways maintenance, civil engineering, and structural engineering works.
- Undertake general manual laboring work, including excavations, reinstatements, and specialist practices.
- Be responsible for your own safety on site and that of your fellow workers and the general public.
As a Groundworker Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience in a dynamic and supportive team environment. You will also receive a competitive salary and the chance to progress your career in a rewarding and challenging industry.
Requirements- A minimum of GCSE Grade 9-4 (or Grade A*-C) or equivalent qualification in English and Maths.
- The ability to work in a team, be self-motivated, and have good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- A good work ethic and commitment to gaining your qualification and learning on the job.
You will be allocated a workplace mentor to provide guidance and support throughout your 21-month apprenticeship. You will also have the support of a College Assessor to help you build your portfolio of evidence and achieve your qualification.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this apprenticeship is set at the current Age National Minimum Wage. You will also receive a competitive benefits package, including access to training and development opportunities.
