We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at Toshiba EMEA. As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for developing and investigating new ideas in computer vision, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research and development in computer vision, robotics, and artificial intelligence to advance Toshiba's future technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transfer technologies to Toshiba Cooperation.
- Represent Toshiba at conferences and present research findings.
- Possibility to propose and supervise internships and PhD research.
- Ph.D. in computer vision, artificial intelligence, or a related field (2+ years post-doctoral or equivalent industrial experience is beneficial).
- First-author publications at major computer vision, robotics, and AI conferences and/or journals.
- Hands-on experience with theoretical derivations and practical implementations (solid programming skills are beneficial).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
We are looking for candidates with in-depth knowledge of fundamentals and state-of-the-art in one or more of the following topics:
- Embodied AI (e.g. Explainable AI, Collaborative Robotics, Long-horizon Planning)
- 3D Geometry (e.g. 3D Reconstruction, Localization, Real-time methods)
- Multi-modal systems (e.g. Vision-and-language Foundation Models, Human-Robot interaction)
- Academic and research-oriented environment to perform fundamental research.
