SEN LSA Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN LSA to join our team at GSL Education. As an SEN LSA, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs in our SEN schools in Southend on sea.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of students.
  • Encourage student participation and engagement through differentiated instruction and activities.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support the development of students' social and communication skills.
Requirements:
  • Experience working as an SEN LSA or in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Understanding of various special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the individual needs of each student.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development.
