Job Opportunity: SEN Learning Support Assistant

SENDirect is a leading recruitment agency connecting professionals with roles in SEN education. We are currently seeking two enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistants to join a well-regarded primary school in Southend.

About the Role

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them thrive academically and socially within a mainstream school setting. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in organising resources and creating a positive classroom environment.
  • Providing 1:1 support to students with SEN, motivating and encouraging their progress.
  • Collaborating with SENCO and teaching staff to coordinate individual support strategies.
  • Supporting pupils' participation in school activities and day-to-day tasks.
  • Building positive relationships with students and families.
Requirements

We are looking for individuals with:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a primary school environment.
