About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Platforms Engineer to join our team at Simple Machines. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data systems that drive business insights and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Engineering: Develop and implement data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes using various tools and technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, Google Cloud, and AWS.
  • Cloud Data Management: Design and implement cloud-based data architectures that ensure data security, compliance, and scalability.
  • Consulting: Provide expert advice to clients on data engineering best practices, data architecture, and data governance.
  • Leadership: Lead project teams, manage project scope, timeline, and resources, and ensure timely delivery of services.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in SQL, Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, and various storage technologies such as S3, BigQuery, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
  • Cloud Experience: Experience with cloud-based data services such as AWS Redshift, S3, Google BigQuery, and Google Cloud Storage.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in leading project teams, managing project scope, timeline, and resources, and ensuring timely delivery of services.
  • Consulting: Experience in providing expert advice to clients on data engineering best practices, data architecture, and data governance.
