We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Platform Engineer to join our team at Ncounter. As a key player in the fintech space, our company processes vast amounts of data daily, empowering traders to monitor and manage commodities, securities, and investments in real-time and at scale. The ingestion pipelines leverage cutting-edge technology to deliver market-leading data insights and trading opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable compute and storage solutions to ensure seamless integration with our existing infrastructure.
- Collaborate with a global team to optimize performance and manage the capacity of distributed storage systems.
- Install and configure hardware and software to enhance monitoring and alerting systems, improving observability and overall system health.
- Contribute to the development of cloud platforms, particularly AWS and GCP, to support our high-frequency trading operations.
- Develop and maintain expertise in Linux administration, distributed storage systems, and performance optimization to ensure the efficiency and reliability of our systems.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of technology infrastructure expertise, with a particular focus on Linux administration.
- Expertise in config management using Chef or Ansible.
- Distributed storage systems knowledge and protocol know-how (NFS, GPFS, WEKA).
- Strong programming skills in Python or other languages (Golang, Rust welcome).
- CI/CD and expertise in observability/distributed systems (e.g., Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
