Benugo is seeking a dedicated Food Safety & Compliance Specialist to join our growing team

In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and compliance across all Benugo locations. You'll be responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and championing health and safety, food safety, and allergen management processes, ensuring alignment with local regulations and industry best practices.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough reviews of accident and incident reports, verifying the implementation of corrective actions following any incidents or near misses.
  • Analyze safety performance trends and provide comprehensive monthly reports to the Head of Safety & OD.
  • Lead QA audits to assess compliance with established standards.
  • Provide proactive support to locations through on-site visits and guidance on improving safety performance and adherence to company policy.
  • Collaborate with operational teams, location managers, and senior chefs to foster a positive food safety culture.
  • Manage action plans stemming from accidents, audits, and investigations, ensuring timely closure.
  • Contribute to the development of safety documentation, projects, training programs, and initiatives within the Food, Health & Safety Team.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date DPS listings.
Your Qualifications:
  • Possess relevant food safety and health & safety qualifications.
  • A BSc/MSc in Environmental Health is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate proven experience in food safety management, ideally within environmental health, contract catering, or the hospitality industry.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of applicable food safety regulations and standards.
  • Possess strong leadership and communication skills to effectively influence a positive food safety culture.
  • Demonstrate analytical abilities for incident investigation and risk assessment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and compliance systems.
  • Maintain a calm and composed demeanor, even in challenging situations.
  • Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Adhere to sound work ethics.
  • Be comfortable with regular travel across Scotland.
