- Cleanliness and Tidiness: Maintain a clean and safe environment in the kitchen, including equipment, appliances, and storage areas.
- Supply Chain Management: Receive, check, and store kitchen deliveries, ensuring that all items are properly labeled and stored.
- Food Safety and Handling: Understand and implement the principles of safe food handling, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of food.
- Cleaning Procedures: Understand and implement cleaning procedures for different surfaces and equipment, ensuring that all areas are well-presented and maintained.
- Teamwork and Communication: Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service delivery, and communicate effectively with management and colleagues.
- Health and Safety: Understand personal responsibilities regarding Health and Safety at Work legislation, and take necessary steps to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a care home or similar setting.
- Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Qualifications: Food Safety and Hygiene certification, or willingness to obtain.
Struan Lodge Care Home is part of Care Concern Group, a market-leading, family-owned care group operating over 70 homes across the UK. We are passionate about creating fantastic care homes for our residents to live in and a supportive and fun environment for our team to work in.
