About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Peer Advocate to join our team at Coordinated Care Services, Inc. As a Family Peer Advocate, you will play a vital role in delivering department-specific services to support families caring for children with social, emotional, mental health, developmental, and/or behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Engage with Families: Develop personal relationships with individuals and families, fostering a supportive environment that emphasizes wellness and recovery.
  2. Provide Department Services: Offer individual, group, and support services, both on-site and in the community, to meet the unique needs of each family.
  3. Address Mental Health Concerns: Provide services to address mental health concerns and behaviors, ensuring a comprehensive approach to support families.
  4. Empower Self-Advocacy: Encourage participants to take an active role in their own lives, promoting self-advocacy and independence.
  5. Collaborate with Community Resources: Develop partnerships with community resources, making referrals as necessary to ensure families receive the support they need.
  6. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and timely documentation, adhering to department requirements and HIPAA regulations.
  7. Adhere to Agency Policies: Ensure compliance with agency policies and department procedures, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
  8. Attend Required Meetings: Participate in scheduled meetings to stay informed and contribute to the team's efforts.
  9. Culturally Sensitive and Trauma-Informed: Support an organizational culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Experience: Knowledge of the public mental health system and experience working with families.
  • Credentials: Credentialed Family Peer Advocate preferred or in the process of obtaining credentials. Credentials must be maintained throughout employment.
Equipment and Software:
  • Office Equipment: Ability to operate various office equipment, including computers, printers, and software.
  • Computer Software: Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel. Experience with Paylocity payroll system preferred.
  • Reliable Transportation: Ability to provide services in the community, requiring reliable transportation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Planning and Scheduling: Ability to plan and schedule tasks to meet deadlines and complete projects efficiently.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Integrity and Confidentiality: Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, upholding the trust of families and colleagues.
  • Cultural Competence: Demonstrate sensitivity, respect, and competency with diverse cultural backgrounds, social identities, and practices of community members.
  • Language Skills: Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
Work Environment:
  • Work Schedule: Standard work week is 35 hours, typically Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, with flexibility required on occasion.
  • Work Location: This role cannot be performed from home or in a hybrid format.
Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation will be in the range of $17-20/hr.
