Job Title: Bridge Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Maintenance Engineer to join our team at BEAR Scotland. As a key member of our North West Bridges Team, you will be responsible for the investigation, design, planning, procurement, and construction management of bridge maintenance works on our network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop bridge maintenance schemes to ensure compliance with technical standards.
  • Prepare reports, investigations, feasibility studies, and assessments to inform maintenance decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and sub-contractor resources to deliver maintenance projects.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of bridge maintenance activities and data.
  • Collaborate with commercial specialists to complete tender evaluations and assist with contract award.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures.
  • Assist in the team's compliance with the CDM Regulations and ensure robust risk assessments are carried out.
Requirements:
  • Degree-level education in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience in civil engineering design and maintenance.
  • Professional qualification and membership of an appropriate professional body.
  • Full approved UK driving licence.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
