We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Workshop Controller to join our team at Arnold Clark Group in Carlisle.
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday 8am to 5:30pm, with alternative Saturdays 8am to 12pm.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coach a team of vehicle technicians and apprentices to ensure targets and business objectives are met.
- Oversee the completion of servicing work, ensuring it is carried out correctly, competently, and on time, with customer satisfaction in mind.
- Ensure all working practices comply with company, DVSA, health and safety, and manufacturer policy.
- Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to provide a seamless service for customers.
- Schedule work to meet customer needs, taking into account workshop targets, job complexity, and part availability.
- Provide estimates for servicing and repairs, setting realistic timescales.
- Assist technicians with technical challenges and find effective solutions.
- Accurately record technician time and write technical reports and recommendations.
- Relevant experience in the automotive industry, including previous workshop control or technician roles.
- High levels of organization and accuracy.
- Strong IT skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to lead by example and motivate the team to achieve targets and deliver high-quality work.
- Capacity to create new work opportunities and sales in an honest and compliant manner.
