Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a special interest in Paediatrics at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist to provide a comprehensive Ophthalmic service at Northampton General Hospital and support the provision of an effective county-wide service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a paediatric service within Ophthalmology, including cataract surgery and training
  • Undertake general ophthalmology services, including routine and emergency care
  • Lead and develop the Ophthalmology service, including clinical audit and governance
  • Contribute to the teaching and training of nursing staff and other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in departmental educational meetings and regional and national audits
