About The Role

We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Youth Support Facilitator at our service, focusing on empowering young individuals who are navigating challenges within the community.

At Salvation Army Homes, we are committed to delivering exceptional housing solutions and support services. As a Youth Support Facilitator, your role will involve working closely with residents engaged with the criminal justice system, assisting them in avoiding remand and transitioning to independent living in collaboration with the Youth Justice team.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to individual service users, ensuring a comprehensive housing service.
  • Act as a keyworker for a designated caseload of residents.
  • Encourage residents to achieve their personal goals and explore their talents through various activities.
  • Help develop and promote this innovative pilot initiative.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to inspire young people to recognize and harness their potential.
  • Experience in engaging with young individuals aged 16-18 years.
  • Proven ability to build trusting, professional relationships and maintain resilience.
  • Competence in applying an asset-based approach to empower individuals in developing their skills.
  • Support clients in sustaining their accommodation and managing their agreements.
  • Knowledge or experience in working with vulnerable populations or those experiencing homelessness.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and practices essential to your role.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard hours as needed.
