Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Service Technician to join our team at Carrier, a world leader in high-technology heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, supporting, and commissioning industrial water chillers, as well as providing expert technical support to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Run large sites single-handedly or supervise other technicians to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate expertise in technical disciplines such as general theory, centrifugal compressor rebuilds, absorption chillers, and controls chiller sequencing.
  • Fulfill commercial and technical aspects of the contract without supervision.
  • Troubleshoot and support technically challenging breakdowns via computer or phone linkups.
  • Commission standard and large capacity products, advise on system installation, and identify system issues beyond the scope of supply.
  • Attend and participate in customer meetings with minimal supervision.
  • Review complex technical documents such as wiring diagrams, P&ID drawings, and pressure-enthalpy diagrams to a fully competent level.
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar role within the HVAC industry, especially industrial water chillers.
  • Qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
  • Full UK Driving License (or equivalent).
  • City & Guilds or equivalent in Safe Handling or Refrigerants.
  • F-Gas qualified.
  • Technical competence with relevant experience of Carrier and other manufacturer's equipment.
