Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of ICT Service Delivery in developing network strategies and delivering projects that meet business requirements on time and within budget.

Daily Activities May Include:

  • Mentoring and guiding less experienced team members to enhance their skills.
  • Staying informed about new practices and technological innovations.
  • Recommending improvements to system performance, security, and reliability.
  • Participating in the on-call support rota for the full team.
  • Engaging in various ad hoc technical, commercial, and business activities to support the team's objectives.

Important Considerations:

As with many organizations, we must maintain our services around the clock. Therefore, you may be required to work outside of regular hours, which is typically planned but can also be unplanned. Participation in an on-call rota is necessary, covering weekday evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Occasional travel to remote sites may be required, and there may be a need for national or international travel based on business needs, which could involve overnight stays.

  • In-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN/VLAN, TCP/IP, UDP, networking infrastructure, and firewalls.
  • Comprehensive understanding of communication and routing protocols.

  • Strong working knowledge of industry best practices related to IT infrastructure and security.
  • Hands-on experience with network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Firewall configuration and support, including traffic flow, dynamic routing, and log analysis.
  • Proficiency in network and hardware troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, utilizing sound judgment to make risk-based decisions on high-profile and complex issues promptly.
  • CCNP or JNCIS-SP/JNCIP-SP certifications or equivalent qualifications.
