Executive Chef

Sodexo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Second Chef to lead our kitchen team at Wavell Combined Mess in Aldershot. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage services to our armed forces personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the kitchen team in the absence of senior colleagues and provide support for the production team.
- Direct the preparation and duties of commis chefs, chef de parties, and other kitchen staff.
- Assist in ordering, prep, stock control, and running service and clean down.
- Ensure strict adherence to all EHO guidelines and systems.
- Improvise and maximize the use of existing stocks where necessary.
- Work with the FOH team to drive service excellence.
- Train, guide, and develop the kitchen team to achieve high standards.
- Monitor sanitation practices to ensure employees follow standards and regulations.
- Prepare, produce, and present food to the highest standard.
- NVQ level 2/3 or experience working in a busy kitchen environment.
- Basic IT skills, with Microsoft packages experience.
- Experience in menu planning and production.
- Exposure to bulk cooking.
- The enthusiasm to develop and learn new skills.
- A positive and approachable manner.
