Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist to join our Respiratory team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality physiotherapy care to patients with respiratory conditions, including Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) and Bronchiectasis.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist physiotherapy assessments, diagnoses, and treatment programs for patients with respiratory conditions.
- Lead and develop clinical practice within the CF team, ensuring compliance with national and local guidelines and frameworks.
- Responsible for the clinical standards, evidence-based practice, and quality metrics within the team.
- Work as an autonomous practitioner to provide specialist therapy assessments, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment programs based on patient needs.
- Manage a clinical caseload and undertake an active role in developing therapy and liaising with the multidisciplinary team and other centers to ensure the pathway for patients is up-to-date.
- Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the delivery of physiotherapy by the team in an efficient and effective way within a fast-paced and pressurized environment.
- Participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of physiotherapy, holding responsibility for defined projects.
- Work alongside the Therapy Speciality Lead/Therapy Clinical Team Leader to develop links between the specialist therapy team and relevant Clinical Management Groups and Corporate Directorates within UHL.
- Ensure the training and development of staff and liaise with colleagues and work across site/cross specialty if appropriate to ensure the provision of a seamless and equitable service.
- Deputize for the Therapy Clinical Team Leader as appropriate and develop the evidence base for practice through audit, clinical effectiveness, and research activity.
