About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a SEN school in Colchester. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH and providing one-on-one and group support to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH
  • Assist with classroom activities and help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to support student development
  • Be a source of motivation, encouragement, and positivity for your students

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children who have additional learning needs/challenging behaviour (not essential)
  • Hold a valid DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
  • Have the passion and drive to work with children - MUST
  • Able to use own initiative to get involved – MUST
