Lead Engineering Operations Manager

Position Overview:

Ultra Precision Control Systems (PCS) is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to enhance our Engineering Function. This pivotal role is tasked with the effective allocation and management of personnel resources to support both development and operational projects within the engineering division. Collaborating closely with fellow Senior Engineering Managers (SEMs) and under the direction of the Head of Engineering, you will ensure the formation of a qualified and skilled team to fulfill the measurable demands of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the delivery of engineering resources to meet project requirements.
  • Provide risk management and technical guidance to assist the Director of Engineering Development in addressing project demands.
  • Achieve On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery metrics as established by the VP Engineering.
  • Build and nurture relationships with both new and existing clients while ensuring that all technical solutions adhere to the defined scope and specifications.
  • Manage the engineering bid estimates for Non-Recurring Costs (NRC) and project timelines.
  • Ensure product quality aligns with internal and external standards.
  • Lead a specialist Engineering Team to deliver required bids and project outcomes.
  • Promote design commonality and reuse across engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with other SEMs, department heads, and senior leadership to formulate strategic growth plans.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A degree in engineering or a related field; an MBA is preferred.
  • Professional engineering certification (CEng) is advantageous.
  • At least 10 years of experience in design, development, and manufacturing.
  • Proven track record in managing teams and leading projects in a technical environment.
  • Experience in commercial negotiations and working with major contractors.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for fostering a productive work environment.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.

Security Clearance:

Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an SC Security Clearance, with the potential for DV clearance.
