Job Title: Director of Commercial Growth

Quest Search & Selection is partnering with a leading retail eCommerce platform to find a Director of Commercial Growth. This is a unique opportunity to join a global business that is going through growth and is looking for an individual who can drive commercial growth and lead a team of experts.

About the Role:
  • Lead a team of Category, Supply Chain, and analytical experts (circa 5-7 people) and take full P&L responsibility of their trading business.
  • Curate the product range by identifying the optimal number of products, ranges, and category allocations.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of daily and weekly trade patterns, identifying deviations from expectations and proposing hypotheses for further validation.
  • Monitor competitive price indices and implement pricing policies accordingly.
  • Manage relationships with key accounts, ensuring adherence to cost prices, promotional activities, and service standards.
  • Negotiate deals with key accounts and regional exclusives.
  • Operate in Owner Mode, working closely with founders and taking full responsibility for the business.
  • Maintain balance between range expansion, product availability, and minimising waste.
  • Provide insights into algorithmic buying decisions and A/B tests to optimise availability.
  • Manage efficiency and inventory fullness.
  • Act as the main point of contact with the central distribution, attending SLT meetings.
  • Develop strategies for in-app merchandising to showcase the product range in alignment with the value proposition.
About the Ideal Candidate:
  • Someone who operates in Owner Mode, making decisions and owning the business.
  • A leader who has driven commercial growth and P&L responsibility in a previous role.
  • A data-savvy, analytical individual who provides the foundations of decision-making.
  • A high-calibre educational background, ideally an MBA or equivalent from a top university.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • High-level Excel and Microsoft Office experience.
