Role Overview

Utilizing your culinary expertise to uphold the highest standards of food preparation and service is paramount in this position.

This role is also about enhancing your leadership capabilities while contributing to exceptional service delivery.

As part of a distinguished culinary team, you will engage directly with your peers to ensure the production of top-quality meals. By working with premium ingredients and focusing on locally sourced and seasonal produce, you will have the opportunity to design and refine menu offerings for a variety of events.

While your primary location will be at a prestigious venue, you will also have the chance to work at various esteemed locations throughout the year.

We strive to maintain a balanced work schedule for our kitchen staff, which includes some shifts during convenient hours and designated weekends off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and maintain exceptional service quality.
  • Assist the Head Chef with procurement, inventory management, and menu development, providing insights for new or enhanced dishes.
  • Oversee and assist in the daily preparation and production of food for diverse events and needs.
  • Mentor and guide junior chefs, fostering their skills in various cooking and preparation techniques across all kitchen sections.
  • Ensure compliance with health and hygiene standards in all kitchen operations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Possessing a City and Guilds catering qualification (or equivalent), you should have significant experience in a high-end catering environment, ideally at a Junior Sous or Sous Chef level.
  • Demonstrated proficiency across all kitchen areas: Larder, Vegetables, Sauces, and Pastry, showcasing your adaptability and culinary skills.
  • Exhibit strong leadership qualities, with a talent for motivating, coaching, and developing junior team members.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to plan and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Possess a solid understanding of health and safety regulations to maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for building effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Able to excel in a dynamic environment where each day presents new culinary challenges and opportunities.
