About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Add Resource & Labour. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining part, assembly, and general arrangement drawings using Solidworks Computer Aided Design (CAD).

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components using CAD software
  • Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) studies on structures for stiffness, strength, and life using Ansys Workbench
  • Conduct feasibility studies, installation checks, reviews, and calculations for each design
  • Define part numbers and assembly structures for input into Bills of Materials (BoM's)
  • Select, evaluate, and apply proprietary components for assemblies and systems
  • Create and complete Product Change Requests (PCR's) and Engineering Change Notes (ECN's)
  • Liaise with internal departments and customers
  • Assist in initiating and maintaining relationships with external suppliers
Requirements
  • Strong experience gained as a Mechanical Design Engineer
  • Proficiency in CAD software, including Solidworks and Ansys Workbench
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
