Job Title: Driver - Trade Counter Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Driver - Trade Counter Assistant to join our team at Meridian Business Support. As a Driver - Trade Counter Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing trade counter sales, and ensuring the smooth operation of our branch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trade Counter Sales: Confidently communicate product knowledge to customers, achieve sales targets, and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Picking, Loading, and Delivering: Pick, load, and deliver products to customers using 5-tonne flatbed trucks and LWB vans, ensuring safe driving and maintaining a clean Company vehicle.
  • Route Planning: Plan and optimize routes to ensure efficient delivery of products to customers.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, support new and existing customers, and develop positive customer relationships.
  • Branch Operations: Assist the Branch Manager with day-to-day branch operations, including stock management, front-of-house cleanliness, and point-of-sale maintenance.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures, and maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Full Driving License: A full and valid driving license is essential.
  • Commercial Approach: A commercial approach to drive sales and maximize margins, while ensuring customers always walk away happy.
  • Organizational Skills: Good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and use own initiative.
  • IT Skills: Confident IT user, with experience of MS Office and industry-standard software (e.g., SAP).
  • Teamwork: Comfortable working in a small team and on occasion, alone.
