Lead Library Engagement and Experience

As a key member of the Services for Academic Programs (SAP) department, the Head of Library Engagement and Experience will play a pivotal role in promoting engagement with library services and resources. Reporting to the Associate Librarian for Research, Teaching, and Learning Services, this position will coordinate a suite of programs designed to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Library Liaison Program Oversight: Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the FAS Library Liaison Program, ensuring its alignment with the department's goals and objectives.
  • Learning and Engagement Opportunities: Develop and implement programs that enhance the learning experience for students and faculty, promoting information literacy, learning design, and digital scholarship.
  • Outreach and Patron Experience: Coordinate outreach efforts and ensure a positive patron experience, advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, belonging, and antiracism practices.
  • Humanities Research Support: Provide leadership in advancing humanities research support, collaborating with academic departments and programs to promote scholarship and innovation.
Key Duties
  • Orientation Program Design: Design, implement, and assess orientation programs for new arrivals to FAS and the Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
  • Library Liaison Services: Lead, manage, and support the FAS Library Liaison services program, enhancing staff proficiency in information literacy and learning design.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise up to five staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of the team.
  • Professional Development: Engage in and facilitate professional development opportunities, promoting a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Financial Management: Ensure responsible financial management, tracking expenses, and following Harvard University's financial policies and protocols.
