Lead Library Engagement and Experience

Acrlny seeks a skilled professional to serve as the Head of Library Engagement and Experience, leading the Services for Academic Programs (SAP) department and coordinating programs to promote engagement with library services and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the FAS Library Liaison Program, fostering strong relationships with academic departments and programs.
  • Develop and implement learning and engagement opportunities for students and faculty, enhancing their experience with library services.
  • Coordinate outreach and patron experiences, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for diverse learners.
  • Advance humanities research support, providing leadership and expertise in this area.
Key Duties
  • Design, implement, and deliver orientation programs for new arrivals to FAS and the Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS).
  • Lead, manage, and support the FAS Library Liaison services program, enhancing staff proficiency in areas such as information literacy and learning design.
  • Supervise up to five staff members, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Promote practices that support equity, diversity, inclusion, belonging, and antiracism.
  • Serve as a library liaison to academic departments and programs, as assigned.
  • Plan, provide, and coordinate outreach and engagement services for a diverse community of learners and library users.
  • Engage in and facilitate professional development opportunities, staying current with best practices in library services.
  • Provide leadership for humanities scholarship, advancing research and learning in this area.
  • Ensure responsible financial management, tracking expenses and following Harvard University's financial policies and protocols.
