Substance Misuse Support Specialist

Position Overview
As a Substance Misuse Support Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and assessing treatment strategies for individuals facing complex challenges related to substance use. Your role will involve collaborating with service users and the broader Substance Misuse and Health teams to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the treatment plan and its associated needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in discussions regarding treatment plans, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned.
- Identify any specific risks or contraindications related to proposed interventions and take necessary precautions.
- Monitor and support patients throughout their treatment journey, promptly notifying management of any significant changes in health or risk levels.
- Assist Psychosocial and clinical caseworkers in promoting health initiatives and disseminating harm reduction information.
- Provide valuable feedback to the Substance Misuse team regarding the evolving needs of individuals and the effectiveness of their treatment plans.
- Ensure that all interventions and treatments are documented accurately and comply with relevant legislation, policies, and established protocols.
Job Requirements
- A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, with a strong commitment to enhancing your skills in substance misuse within a dynamic environment.
- A genuine passion for supporting individuals who use substances and improving their overall quality of life.
Language Proficiency
While proficiency in Welsh is desirable, applications from both Welsh and English speakers are encouraged.
