Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic clinician to join the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust as a Fellow in Structural Cardiology. The post is suitable for trainees who have already completed core training in General Cardiology and wish to sub-specialize in Structural Cardiology.

About the Role

The Fellow will work under the direct supervision of Consultant cardiologists Professor Kovac and Dr Roberts, gaining exposure to a variety of complex cardiac interventions. The majority of the week will be spent in the lab undertaking procedures, with opportunities to join the registrar on-call rota and participate in research activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake procedures in the lab, including coronary and structural interventions
  • Participate in regular weekly meetings and monthly MDT meetings to discuss patient management
  • Attend training sessions and workshops to develop skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to research activities and publications
Person Specification

Essential

  • MBBS or Equivalent
  • GMC Registration
  • MRCP or Equivalent
  • Evidence of Higher Specialist Training in Cardiology
  • Advanced Life Support Training

Desirable

  • Higher degree (MD/PhD)
  • Experience of training and competency in interventional/structural Cardiology
