About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Ecological Project Manager to lead and manage a variety of ecological projects, providing expert guidance on environmental assessments and biodiversity strategies. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects across diverse sectors, including conservation, sustainability, and environmental management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage ecological assessments, habitat surveys, and impact studies for various projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Field Work: Conduct and oversee field surveys, including protected species surveys, habitat assessments, and ecological monitoring, in accordance with relevant legislation and best practices.
  • Writing Reports: Prepare detailed ecological reports, impact assessments, and mitigation strategies, communicating complex information to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior ecologists, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment that promotes professional growth and development.
  • Compliance: Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, planning policies, and environmental standards, maintaining a strong focus on quality and risk management.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience within an ecological consultancy or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects.
  • Qualifications: Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, with a master's degree or PhD being advantageous.
  • Skills: Proficient in ecological survey techniques, data analysis, and report writing, with a strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation, planning regulations, and best practices in ecological management.
  • Attitude: Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work with a positive impact, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
