Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Leadership: Lead and manage ecological assessments, habitat surveys, and impact studies for various projects, ensuring high-quality project delivery and fostering strong client relationships.
  2. Field Operations: Conduct and oversee field surveys, including protected species surveys, habitat assessments, and ecological monitoring, to inform project decisions and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  3. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare detailed ecological reports, impact assessments, and mitigation strategies, utilizing data analysis and report writing skills to communicate complex information effectively.
  4. Team Development: Mentor and support junior ecologists, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment that promotes professional growth and development.
  5. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, planning policies, and environmental standards, identifying and mitigating potential risks to project success.
Requirements:
  1. Experience: Proven experience within an ecological consultancy or a related field, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects and results.
  2. Qualifications: Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, with a master's degree or PhD being advantageous.
  3. Skills: Proficient in ecological survey techniques, data analysis, and report writing, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ecology Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation, planning regulations, and best practices in ecological management, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
