Quantity Surveyor Job Description

As a Quantity Surveyor at Keltbray Group, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional commercial results within our Energy Transmission & Distribution Business Unit. Based in our Preston Brook Office, Cheshire, you will be part of a team that strives to achieve profitability, cash management, cost control, and accurate reporting of all schemes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Contribute to the application and credit control processes to ensure seamless project delivery.
  2. Develop a deep understanding of income forecasting and pricing of variations to maximize profit.
  3. Familiarize yourself with the change control system to ensure effective project management.
  4. Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure successful project outcomes.
  5. Produce accurate CVRs and CTCs to support commercial reporting.
  6. Develop forecasting data to inform business decisions.
  7. Understand and manage the costing process to ensure accurate project pricing.
  8. Assist in the management of the full sub-contract cycle, including input into sub-contract documentation.
  9. Participate in weekly cost-to-complete/budget reviews with the contract delivery teams.
  10. Upload necessary documentation in line with business requirements.
  11. Review weekly site records, including allocation sheets and site diaries.
  12. Attend project progress meetings to ensure effective communication.
  13. Assist in preparing monthly financial performance reports to inform business decisions.

  1. Ensuring adherence to group commercial policies and meeting legislative requirements.
  2. Managing commercial performance against business targets and KPIs.
  3. Collaborating with commercial and operational teams to drive continuous improvement.
  4. Promoting a culture of integration, continuous improvement, and best practice across the client base.
  5. Assisting with the use of key lean tools to drive efficiencies and reduce waste.
  6. Encouraging and supporting the delivery of successful collaborative planning with the contract delivery teams.
  7. Committing to your own professional development and that of others across the Business Unit.
  8. Performing other tasks as identified by the Senior Quantity Surveyor/Managing Surveyor.
