Pupil Support Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pupil Support Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our pastoral team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with challenging behaviour, ensuring their well-being and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the seclusion room, including break and lunch times, to maintain a safe and supportive environment for students.
- Provide individualised support to students on issues such as behaviour, engagement, and attendance, working closely with teachers and other support staff.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and parents to ensure comprehensive pastoral support.
- Collaborate with the pastoral team to implement behaviour management strategies and promote a positive school culture.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individualised behaviour plans, working closely with teachers and other support staff.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people facing barriers to learning, preferably in a school setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Confident and patient individual with competent behaviour management skills, able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances, prioritising the needs of students and the school.
