Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pupil Support Assistant to join our team. As a Pupil Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people who require additional support in their learning and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to pupils/children in identified areas of learning and personal development.
  • Contribute to the planning and review process for individual pupils/children.
  • Supervise pupil/child self-administration of medication and provide personal care to enable them to function to their full potential.
  • Implement support programmes designed by visiting specialists, such as speech and language programmes and physiotherapy.
  • Support pupil/child mobility on an emergency/short-term basis and for low-level needs.

Requirements

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Experience of supporting young people with additional support needs.
  • PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and registration with the SSSC within 6 months of taking up employment.
  • 2 National 4's, or 2 Standard Grades General, or 2 O Grades or equivalent (SCQF Level 4 or above).
  • Good IT skills.
