About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pupil Support Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As a key member of our pastoral team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with challenging behaviour, ensuring their well-being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the seclusion room, including break and lunch times, to maintain a safe and supportive environment for students.
  • Provide individualized support to students on issues such as behaviour, engagement, and attendance, working closely with teachers and other support staff.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and parents to ensure comprehensive pastoral support.
  • Collaborate with the pastoral team to identify and address student needs, implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and academic achievement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of behaviour management plans, working closely with teachers and other support staff.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with young people facing barriers to learning, with a strong understanding of behaviour management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the needs of students and the school.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with a strong understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
