About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to join our team at Wiltshire Council. As a LADO, you will play a vital role in safeguarding children in Wiltshire, providing professional consultation and advice to Senior Managers and key stakeholders on safeguarding policies and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Chair and coordinate complex multi-agency meetings to review and manage allegations made against individuals working with children.
  • Develop and implement effective management strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
  • Provide training on allegations management to all agencies and organisations providing services to children from Wiltshire.
  • Report on services performance, developmental needs, and areas of learning to SVPP, workforce development subgroup, and commissioners.
Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker with a SW England registration.
  • Substantial experience in child protection and safeguarding legislation.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively across agencies.
