Job Title: Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in safeguarding children by managing and overseeing allegations against adults who work with children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee allegations against adults working with children, ensuring that all cases are handled in accordance with statutory guidance and local procedures.
  • Provide advice and guidance to employers and voluntary organisations on child protection and safeguarding matters.
  • Liaise with police, social care, and other relevant agencies to ensure effective collaboration and information sharing.
  • Maintain accurate records and produce reports as required, providing clear and concise information to stakeholders.
  • Deliver training and support to staff and partner agencies on child protection and safeguarding best practices.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in child protection and safeguarding, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various agencies and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage complex cases, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills, with the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Relevant professional qualifications, such as social work or education, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
