Service Engineer / Plant Mechanic

LRL are currently recruiting for a skilled Service Engineer / Plant Mechanic to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in Blackpool.

Salary: £30,000 per annum + Overtime

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Thursday, 8:00am-17:00pm and Friday 8:00am - 14:30pm. Overtime available.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To carry out safety-critical repairs, modifications, and maintenance to road/rail excavators and equipment used within the rail industry, in the workshop, at customer's facilities, or on site as required.
  • Assist in the ongoing manufacture of new and innovative machinery.
  • The repair and maintenance of plant and equipment, including modifications and upgrades of plant and machinery.
  • Examination and repair of faults on plant and equipment.
  • Diagnostics testing.
  • Evaluate information and data interpretation of technical information.
  • Installing safety and productivity systems to machinery.
  • Assembling and testing of new build machinery.
  • Provide support in special projects/scheduled servicing of vehicles and plant.
Required Qualifications:
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent - in engineering trade.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • An eye for detail and good design.
  • Excellent numeracy skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent people and time management skills.
  • The ability to work well both as part of a team and on your own.
  • PTS Certification (desirable).
  • Road/Rail maintenance competency certificate (desirable).
  • Forklift truck driving (desirable).
