Polytec Personnel Ltd is seeking a dedicated and proactive Quality Assurance Engineer to enhance product and process quality throughout the product lifecycle for our esteemed client located just north of Cambridge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Voice of Customer (VOC) assessments for product and project specifications, consistently refining the requirements capture process.
  • Evaluate existing product performance metrics to inform improvements in new project scopes.
  • Participate in project gate assessments during the product lifecycle, pinpointing potential risks to quality, cost, or supply.
  • Review Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans, and Design for Excellence (DFx) to ensure risks are adequately identified and mitigated.
  • Define and establish quality standards and requirements.
  • Develop Project Quality Plans to ensure quality standards are articulated and communicated to all relevant parties.
  • Lead and facilitate audits in line with audit schedules and project specifications.
  • Oversee and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) initiatives for identified issues and nonconformities.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of HND in an engineering discipline (electronics, mechanical, or software).
  • Certification in a recognized Quality Standard.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with the principles of the latest ISO 9001 standard.
  • Solid technical foundation, capable of executing both proactive quality assurance tasks and supporting control measures to ensure quality in new product introductions.
  • Experience in a technical setting, promoting Total Quality Management (TQM) within Engineering.
  • Proven auditing skills, with the ability to conduct both internal and supplier audits confidently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production lines.
