Position: Commissioning Manager
Company Overview: Morson Talent collaborates with a prominent UK water utility provider that serves over 4.5 million residential and commercial clients across the Midlands.
Role Overview: We are seeking a Commissioning Manager to become an integral part of the Capital Delivery Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding a diverse team of commissioning engineers to ensure the successful execution of our capital works program, which encompasses a variety of innovative construction projects within the water sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of commissioning engineers, ensuring effective delivery of projects.
- Collaborate closely with the Programme Management team to allocate resources to high-priority projects, maintaining a focus on timely delivery, cost efficiency, and quality standards.
- Support individual projects as needed, sharing expertise to foster effective succession planning.
- Maintain and enhance commissioning documentation and processes, driving quality assurance throughout the supply chain.
- Promote new initiatives in treatment processes and health and safety practices.
Accountabilities:
- Engage with design and delivery teams, ensuring optimized project delivery through effective resource allocation.
- Provide technical support during commissioning and project handover phases.
- Manage key stakeholder relationships, addressing incidents promptly and implementing corrective actions.
- Identify and manage risks impacting the Capital Programme's success, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Oversee the commissioning process, reviewing operational practices and liaising with stakeholders.
- Develop the technical and leadership skills of team members, fostering a culture of performance and growth.
- Encourage a proactive health and safety culture within the team.
- Contribute to problem-solving in complex scenarios, leveraging industry best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Expertise in plant process verification and performance assessment.
- Familiarity with NEC Conditions of Contract.
- Experience in supply chain management with a focus on health and safety, quality, and financial performance.
- Strong risk management skills and collaborative experience with multiple stakeholders.
- Effective planning and implementation capabilities.
- Ability to manage and motivate a high-performing team.
- Knowledge of process automation and electrical systems.
