Job Title: Band 8a Psychotherapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 8a Psychotherapist to join our team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Paediatric Psychology department, you will play a vital role in providing leadership and clinical expertise in our Chronic Fatigue and Long Covid clinical pathway.

Your responsibilities will include supporting and developing colleagues working in the pathway, leading the development of CBT within the service, and representing CBT within senior leadership forums. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a supportive leadership team to develop an effective and high-quality CBT pathway.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in CBT and experience in providing assessment, treatment, and formulation for complex presentations. You will also have excellent line management and clinical supervision skills, as well as the ability to contribute to teaching, training, and skills development in the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the CBT pathway within Paediatric Psychology and ensure the service continues to deliver excellent care for children, young people, and families.
  • Provide assessment, treatment, and formulation for complex presentations.
  • Provide line management and clinical supervision to colleagues in the team.
  • Contribute to teaching, training, and skills development in the team.
Requirements:
  • Core mental health professional training in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Psychotherapy, or equivalent, together with post-degree diploma-level training in CBT.
  • Completion of a recognised High Intensity supervision course provided by an IAPT-approved Higher Education provider.
  • HCPC-approved member or full accreditation with the BABCP for a significant length of time.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, training, and/or other fields of applied psychology.
Working Arrangements:

This is a permanent 2.5 days a week post with an additional temporary element until 31st March. The temporary element is likely to be extended beyond March 2025.

Salary:

£53,755 to £60,504 per annum pro rata.

Contract:

Permanent.
