Position Overview:

  • We are looking for a skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to become part of our esteemed healthcare team, tasked with managing chronic conditions in a general practice setting, administering vaccinations for both children and adults, providing wound care, and conducting cytology procedures. Relevant qualifications and experience are essential.
  • Proficiency in conducting chronic disease reviews and immunization practices is a prerequisite.
  • Flexible working arrangements are available across five days, including afternoon sessions at various locations, with opportunities for additional hours to cover staff absences.
  • Preference will be given to candidates holding certifications in Non-Medical Prescribing and Minor Ailments.
  • Nursing and regulatory registration is required for international applicants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of chronic diseases related to national health standards.
  • Conducting cytology tests.
  • Assisting with suture removal.
  • Performing ECGs.
  • Executing venepuncture procedures.
  • Administering ear syringing treatments.
  • Providing routine immunizations and childhood vaccinations.
  • Delivering contraceptive services.
  • Applying national and local healthcare guidelines effectively in patient care.

Role Description:

  • Overseeing chronic disease management, including conditions such as Asthma, COPD, and Hypertension, along with lifestyle counseling.
  • Carrying out routine patient care tasks as directed by senior nursing staff.
  • Assisting in minor surgical procedures, ECGs, venepuncture, and travel health services.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of medical equipment, treatment rooms, and inventory supplies.
  • Engaging in administrative responsibilities and maintaining precise patient records.
  • Participating in practice meetings and executing assigned duties.

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

  • Registered First Level Nurse.
  • Experience in Clinical Supervision.

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years of post-registration experience in chronic disease management.
  • Familiarity with national and local healthcare guidelines.
  • Background in primary and community nursing, along with quality improvement initiatives.

Skills:

  • Essential clinical competencies in cervical cytology, immunization, ear care, minor surgical procedures, and wound management.
  • Experience in clinical teaching and mentorship.
  • Expertise in chronic disease management.
