This role offers an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals within the prison setting, providing high-quality mental health care.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of individuals with secondary mental health service needs while they are in custody.
- Contribute to the delivery and development of effective, needs-based mental health services within the prison environment.
- Ensure effective communication is maintained at all times with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Utilize nursing skills and resources to provide high-quality service to all service users.
- Contribute to maintaining the Care Programme Approach (CPA) process throughout the legal and custodial process.

Essential Requirements
- Registered Mental Nurse (RMN)
- Completion of preceptorship programme
- Good knowledge and experience of risk assessment and management
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and other relevant mental health legislation, including CPA
Desirable Requirements
- Evidence of continuous practice development related to delivering psychological interventions to both individuals and groups
- Training in psychological interventions
- Experience of working in offender health or within a forensic setting
