We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Smart Grid Integration Specialist. As a key member of our Smart Grid team, you will be responsible for leading the technical integration of suitable flexible assets into our Ecotricity Smart Grid VPP.
Key Responsibilities- Integration and Onboarding of Assets
- Establish EcoLink connections for asset integration
- Specify and instruct development of new capabilities for our EcoLink device
- Procurement and Contract Negotiation
- Identify and assist in contract negotiations for procurement of necessary technologies
- Liaison and Collaboration
- Work closely with internal stakeholders from planning, construction, and operations teams
- Assess interface requirements of new Grid services
- Advise VPP Growth Officer on asset alignment with Ancillary Service needs
- Technical Expertise
- Understand technical requirements of National Grid ancillary services
- Develop methods of control and monitoring to deliver services
- Technical Skills
- Technical understanding of renewable technologies, particularly energy storage
- Ability to read and understand site Single Line Diagrams
- Understanding of IT communication methods, e.g. MODBUS or MQTT
- Understanding of power system terminology, e.g. reactive power, frequency
- Soft Skills
- Excellent analytical ability
- Strong report writing ability
- Good communication abilities
- Excellent MS Excel, Word, Visio skills
- Good organisational and process disciplines
