Main Job Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Social Services Occupational Therapist to join our Integrated Children's OT team in Waltham Forest. As a key member of our multidisciplinary specialist children's service, you will work closely with physiotherapists, speech therapists, paediatricians, community nurses, and CAMHS teams to deliver an excellent service and support children and young people to achieve their potential.

Key Job Duties
  • Carry out home assessments to identify barriers to children and young people's participation in activities of daily living and identify solutions including potential onward referral for major adaptations, equipment provision, support with packages of care, and signposting.
  • Attend the Major Adaptations Panel and have a clear understanding of policy and legislation governing social care provision.
  • Work closely with the health OT team and the broader MDT to deliver an excellent service and support children and young people to achieve their potential.
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience of working in social care, with evidence of work responsibilities appropriate to the role.
  • 3 years post-graduate experience in Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience of recommending home adaptations for access, independence, and safety.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Audit and research experience.
  • Awareness of financial assessment processes in relation to key interventions.
