Job Title: Occupational Therapist in Social Services
At NELFT, we are seeking an experienced occupational therapist to join our Integrated Children's OT team in Waltham Forest.
Main Responsibilities:
- To carry out home assessments to identify barriers to children and young people's participation in activities of daily living and identify solutions.
- To work closely with the health OT team and the broader multidisciplinary team to deliver an excellent service and support children and young people to achieve their potential.
- To develop and implement solutions for major adaptations, equipment provision, support with packages of care, and signposting.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary specialist children's service where we are co-located with physiotherapists, speech therapists, paediatricians, community nurses, and CAMHS teams.
Requirements:
- Essential qualifications: Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy, Current HCPC registration.
- Desirable qualifications: Member of RCOT Specialist Section - Children, Young People and Families.
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience of working in social care, with evidence of work responsibilities appropriate to the role.
- 3 years post-graduate experience in Occupational Therapy.
- Experience of recommending home adaptations for access, independence, and safety.
We Offer:
Payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436 pro rata for part-time) and High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,192 to a maximum of £2,011 pro rata for part-time).
