Key Responsibilities- Monitor financial performance and provide guidance on sustainable growth.
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance, maintaining the highest standards of governance and performance.
- Manage risks, conflict of interests, and internal controls.
- Assess and address conflicts of interest, ensuring our activities do not compromise our charitable status and reputation.
We are looking for an individual with a commercial background, ideally experience in the hospitality or commercial property sectors. You should have a track record of growing businesses and possess the following skills:
- Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties and responsibilities of directorship.
- The ability to participate effectively in meetings and confidence to challenge and hold to account our executive and other board colleagues.
- Ability to understand the need for balanced decision-making, taking account of the wider interests of our organization.
- Demonstrable commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with the ability to recognize and challenge discrimination and bias in its many forms.
The board meets quarterly for up to two hours, with occasional additional ad hoc meetings. Meetings are held primarily in person in Bath, though online attendance can be arranged if necessary.
